Thumbs-Up Club is a term-time Children's Bible Club for 5 - 11 year olds, held at Letchworth Baptist Church, that includes a mix of Bible teaching, craft and prayer and is thoroughly enjoyed by all the youngsters who attend.  The team is headed up by Judy Rees who has worked with and developed friendships with many of the children's families over the years.

It runs on Thursday afternoons during term time, between 4:30pm and 5:45pm,

Thumbs-Up Club is the successor to Hiz Kidz, which started in the Autumn term of 2000 following an eventful summer programme during which many children expressed a great interest to know more about God. In response, the church felt that it was being called by God to establish something more than a simply an entertainment based children’s club and Hiz Kidz was born. Its goal is to help children get to know God through the Bible and prayer. Many of the children develop a great enthusiasm for the Bible.

Recognising that children fresh from school are both tired and hungry, each club normally starts by providing a cooked tea for the children.  This helps them partcipate in the programme more happily and makes the sessions a much happier experience.

Judy has known many of the families for many years, and is an experienced Children’s worker, she works in local schools, as part of the Oak project, on a one-to-one and small group basis with many children. She has also worked on short term projects in the Philippines, Mexico and Romania and has organised and run children’s events at Christian conferences in France and Germany.
